Aashadhi Ekadashi is one of the most important religious festivals that is celebrated in Maharashtra. This ceremony is generally held at Pandharpur where a huge number of devotees gather to celebrate the festival. It is a religious procession festival which is held every year during the Aashaadh Shukla paksha.
Taking into account this auspicious festival of Maharashtra, we at SSRVM celebrated this festival with great reverence, where our little angels right from Pre-primary to Primary section participated in the celebration. The celebration began with a palki procession where the kids played cymbals, reciting the hymns of Lord Vittala and rejoicing in the name of Lord. They also performed various acts of entertainment which warkaris perform during their journey towards Pandharpur. A special discourse (Kirtan) was organised for Std VI students. The celebration was concluded with Lord Ganesha and Lord Vittala’s aarti.
SSRVM always believes in deepening the roots and broadening the vision. Through such celebrations we provide a platform to our students to understand, respect and inculcate diversity of different cultures.

Yoga and mindfulness help to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children.
Yoga teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity. Yoga can reduce challenging behaviors in the classroom by providing a physical outlet for children to express themselves.
Improved balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility are all skills that kids can gain from a routine practice of yoga. Aside from physical health benefits, yoga can also have a huge impact on mindfulness and mental health.
June 21 was celebrated as International Yoga Day. Our Pre-primary kids also enjoyed doing yoga and learnt simple poses.

Teacher’s day celebrations at SSRVM Bhugaon left the entire staff of SSRVM drooling in their bygone childhood days; as the theme for the day’s celebration was childhood. Class 10th students had planned fun games like ludo, carrom, playing cards, musical chair, tailing the elephant, lemon and spoon, snakes and ladder, table tennis, race and passing the ball (courtesy games team). This was followed by a recreated and nostalgic program staged in a beautifully decorated canteen (courtesy decoration team) that had posters of Bollywood movies of the late 80’s and 90’s and a backdrop of Doordarshan logo, a school bag, lolly pops, candies, and favourite Bollywood stars.

The program began with the anchoring team staging as the news reporter for Doordarshan followed by feet tapping songs of the past by the music team, famous ads from teacher’s childhood and entertainingly humorous enactments that received huge applause from everyone. A small segment on recognising teachers’ childhood photos and dialogue delivery game for teachers also proved to be very exciting. Throughout the show, delicious biscuits, Bournvita, Poppins and yummy bhel ( courtesy food team) were served to teachers with hot Bournvita. Students enacted the Advertisement s of Nirma, Bajaj, Lijjat papad, Parle G, which made everyone nostalgic. The dramas performed by the drama team was mind-blowing. The students took everyone to the era of 70’s and 80’s with their melodious songs. As the program kept the teachers entertained, class 9 students assumed the roles of teachers and managed the entire school efficiently and a student of std 9th, Miss Ira Ghare, who played the role of the principal, expressed her gratitude and appreciated the hard work put in by teachers to run the entire school efficiently.

The program ended with a group photo followed by informal dancing by teachers and students of 10th. Everyone present appreciated the efforts of class 10th students for the great management and presentation skills and for making the day so special for all teachers. Later the school gave a grand lunch to all the teachers in” BBQN”.

Teacher’s Day Celebration for Staff

Ganapati the lord of buddhi i.e intellect is said to bestow his devotees with “knowledge” and “good luck”. Our school celebrates the Ganesh festival with much fervor, enthusiasm and devotion. The last day is marked by a grand Ganesh puja and Visarjan procession.

The procession in our school is synonymous with traditional Dhol Tasha. The sound of Tasha is thrilling and matching with the stokes of Dhol reverberating every corner of our school. Vibrant energy and rhythmic atmosphere created by Dhol Tasha was magical. Children could not stop tapping their feet bopping their head and getting vibe of the melody. The grandeur, the enthusiasm and that never-ending spirit with which it was played was literally giving us goosebumps. We simply embraced those beats and enjoyed the cheerful sound of booming drums. These classic moments will stay in our hearts forever.

And ultimately the bittersweet moment came. Children lovingly held their favorite deity Lord Ganesha and took the idol to the immersion area as they prepare to bid adieu. With heavy heart we bid emotional goodbye to Ganapati bappa. As the popular chant goes “Ganapati bappa moraya pudhachya varshi lavkar ya” we want him to come back soon next year.

Students of std 5th visited the Tribal museum. The purpose of this visit was to observe the tribal people and learn about their lifestyle. The students were enthusiastic and eager to know more about the tribal people and their culture. They got acquainted with different architecture, arms, attire, food, livelihood, etc. They were shown a documentary regarding the same.

Field Trip To Tribal Museum

On 4th September Teacher’s Day was celebrated in Pre-Primary section. Students of K3 became teachers and taught students of K2 & K1. It was a great experience to watch the tiny tots giving their ?? Also, the importance of the day was explained to them and they were also told about Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Pre-Primary Teacher’s Day Celebration

SSRVM believes not only in an academic growth of a child but also in the overall development which helps the child to blossom into a beautiful human being. The child in the later will be able to work in a happy state of mind and accept a failure with grace.

The school also recognizes and acknowledges the inner potentials of a child through various extra-curricular activities. They can be vocal music, rhythm instruments, dramatics, dance and art, and craft. Special periods are allotted and children are given the liberty to choose the subject of their interest and get the best out of it.

This year too the cultural festival showcasing the talent of all the students of a special subject was performed in the school on Saturday, 26th November 2016 between 5 p.m. and  8 p.m. Parents were invited to appreciate and applaud these budding artists who had a promising future in whatever they did.

Miss Nupur Daithankar, a well-known professional Bharatnatyam dancer was invited to proceed over the show. All the participants of the cultural festival put their best foot forward by performing extraordinarily well. It could be seen by the students painstaking efforts through their enthusiastic performances.
